Years ago, long before children, my husband Andrew and I took a trip to California. My favorite part of that trip was having dinner in Old Town San Diego. The "Tortilla Ladies" sat in the front window of the restaurant making tortillas from scratch and they were out of this world! You could eat them plain, straight from the basket, which we did.
Tortilla's are relatively easy to make, and this beautiful tool does most of the work. It is an authentic press, made and used in Mexico. The small profile makes it easy to store, but it looks so pretty, you will want to keep it out. The large diameter makes it perfect for for recipes calling for larger tortillas like quesadillas and enchiladas. Each press is handmade in Mexico and no two are alike, with minor imperfection/major charm.
